This is where the fun and the learning reach their heights. The labs are written to the kids, so they have a conversational, fun-loving tone. The labs are designed to challenge the students at the high-school level in terms of procedural and reporting requirements. The labs will take advantage of the students’ more advanced dexterity and longer attention span, while showing them those fascinating chemical processes. Your students will be demonstrating chemical luminescence (glow-in-the dark) reactions, gas generation, heat production, precipitation of solids from liquid solutions. They will safely collect and “explode” hydrogen gas in a test tube, while learning principles of laboratory safety.

The laboratories were designed by a home school father and professional scientist for use by his own children and in his own home. Dr. Dobbins is also a professional in environmental safety and health, and is uniquely qualified to provide safe labs for home use. Issues of disposal and handling of residuals become non-issues.

The Home Laboratory workbook is spiral bound, black and white, 130-pages in 8-1/2 × 11 inch format with nice full-color covers. The workbook is printed on heavy, bright-white paper for durability and legibility.
